Step 3. Bladder neck and seminal dissection

Description
- During dissection of the posterior circumference of bladder neck, care should be taken to stay within the plane between the bladder and the prostate.
- Exposure of the posterior surface of bladder neck is optimized by pulling gently posterior bladder neck proximally.
- Ligation of vas to a more proximal level is advised as this can assist access to the tips of the seminal vesicles latter.
- Excessive energy application during dissection of seminal vesicles should be avoided in order to preserve the ipsilateral nerve bundles from thermal injury.
