Biography

Andrea Minervini attended the University of Pisa Medical School where he received his M.D. degree in 1999 cum Laude. He completed his Urology residency at Pisa University Hospital in 2004. He received his PhD degree in 2007, in Diagnostics and Interventional Technologies in Urology at the University of Perugia. Honorary Fellow at the Institute of Urology and Nephrology London UK between 2000 and 2002 and honorary fellow of the Bristol Urological Institute, UK in 2004. Assistant professor at the University of Florence since 2005 and at the University of Pisa from 2007. He is associate member of the EORTC-GU Group since 2005. He works as Consultant Urologist at the University of Florence, Careggi Hospital since November 2007. He is a Member of the Young Accademic Urologists of the EAU: Renal Cell Carcinoma Working Group since 2012. Scientific Coordinator of the Multicentre Italian Study on Conservative Surgery for Kidney Cancer (RECORd 1) (January 2009-December 2012) and of the Multicentre Italian Study on Surgical Treatment for Kidney Cancer (RECORd 2) since January 2013. He received the Italian Matula Award in 2013. He became member of the Scientific Committee of the Italian Society of Urology (SIU) in January 2014. He is in the committee on minimally invasive nephron sparing surgery at the ICUD-EAU consultation on minimally invasive surgery in urology since 2014. His clinical and scientific interests include urological oncology and its minimally invasive laparocopic and robotic management, andrology and the minimally invasive treatment of pelvic organ prolapse, incontinence and urological endometriosis. He is Author of 125 publication on indexed peer reviewed journals. impact factor: 507; mean impact factor: 4.0; h-index: 26; g- index : 42; citations: 2080; citations/papers: 16.
